Automated Parking Systems (APS)

The Problem That’s Killing Your Deals

Traditional Parking:

A Space-Wasting Disaster

Look at any conventional parking structure and you’ll see the problem immediately. Cars occupy maybe 40% of the total space. The rest? Wasted on requirements that exist only because humans drive cars:
Drive Aisles

24-foot-wide corridors for maneuvering

Turn Radius Areas

Massive corners for vehicle navigation

Ramp Systems

Spiral or straight ramps consuming 15-20% of each floor

Pedestrian Infrastructure

Elevators, stairwells, walkways for human access

Ventilation Systems

Massive HVAC to clear exhaust fumes

Safety Zones

Buffer areas, restricted zones, emergency access

Underground Parking

The devastating result

You need 375 square feet to park one car traditionally. With land at $500/sq ft , a huge portion of cost is wasted on required parking, the Teton System which needs 208 square feet per car can add up to 20% more net rentable area at ZERO additional land cost.
cost and complexity

Even Worse Economics

Subterranean parking multiplies the cost and complexity. Beyond land costs, you’re facing:

Recent case study: A subterranean installation saved over $14 million in excavation and concrete by switching to Teton’s automated system.

The Teton Solution: Volumetric Parking Revolution

How Automated Parking Changes Everything

Remove the human from the equation and physics transforms in your favor. Cars don’t need to drive, turn, or maneuver inside the structure. They are simply parked, stored and retrieved by precision automation.

System Components

The System Components: ALL ELECTRIC, NO hydraulics

1. Loading Bays
Drive-in chambers where customers drop off vehicles
2. Pallets
Platforms that carry vehicles through the system (a vehicle never runs)
3. Lifts
Vertical transport mechanisms moving cars between levels
4. Shuttles

Horizontal transport systems within each level

5.Stacker Systems

High-density storage mechanisms

6. Control Software

Siemens-based AI managing all operations

7. No single point of failure
Multiple backups eliminate downtime or stranded vehicles
Revolutionary Space Efficiency

Traditional Parking Requirements vs. Teton APS:

Subterranean parking multiplies the cost and complexity. Beyond land costs, you’re facing:
Result: 208 square feet per car vs. 375 square feet traditional is a 44% reduction in surface area and a 55% reduction in cubic volume, which doubles your parking density.

STEP-BY-STEP

The User Experience:

Valet Service Without the Valet

Step 01

Secure Entry

Customers access the system via key fob, phone app, ticket, or kiosk. The system automatically detects the vehicle and directs them to an available loading bay.
Step 02

Safe Drop Off

The loading bay is a safe, clean, well-lit, monitored space. Customers drive in, turn off the engine, lock their car, retain the keys, and exit. The entrance door closes automatically, and the passage door remains locked until they exit.
Step 03

Automated Storage

Using electrically powered lifts and shuttles, Siemens software moves the car in three dimensions to the optimally located open stall. The system already determined the best parking location while the car was entering.

Step 04

Effortless Retrieval

Average retrieval time: 40-180 seconds compared to 12-15 minutes in conventional garages. The system automatically turns the car around, so it faces the exit door. Remote request capability enables “zero” wait time with advance notice.
Technical Excellence & Reliability

Industrial Grade Automation

Siemens Control Systems: The backbone of our automation uses Siemens industrial software enhanced with learning AI the same reliability standards used in manufacturing plants and distribution centers for many years. This can be tuned to the specific requirement of the user.

Made for the Real World

ADA Compliance: All loading bays are ADA accessible, making ALL parking stalls ADA compliant no designated spaces needed.

Weather Independence: Vehicles stored in controlled environment eliminate weather related damage, ice scraping, and extreme temperature exposure.

Security Excellence: No public access to storage areas means zero vehicle break-ins, vandalism, theft or assault. Only authorized personnel in the monitoring stations.

Advanced Access Control: Multiple security interface options, including:

Environmental & Sustainability Leadership

Dramatic Environmental Impact Reduction

Cars are not driven but moved on pallets powered by electric shuttles and lifts.

Future Ready Technology Integration

EV Charging Capabilities: Users plug their EV into the charging module on the loading bay pallet. The system automatically moves the EV to a charging stall, then relocates it to standard storage after charging completion.

Smart Building Integration:

Additional Features:

Bicycle Storage Integration: Pallets can be ordered with bicycle racks or retrofitted in the field to accommodate mixed transportation needs.
